PROGRAM OBJECTIVE(S): At the conclusion of this program the participant will be able to:
Describe the current state of addiction care in the US and the role of the ED in providing care for individuals with OUD The learner will be able to explain how addiction affects the neurochemical pathways of the brain and how MAT impacts the neurochemical pathways ≫ ≫
Explain how medications can significantly improve outcomes in addiction
Identify the different approaches to psychoeducation and psychotherapy in the treatment of addiction
Examine common myths and misconceptions related to OUD and MAT and the scientific evidence base that refutes these myths
